Online Grocery Shopping Best Practices

Piggly Wiggly South Carolina joined MyWebGrocer in May ‘08. They came on board launching the interactive weekly circular, online shopping list, personalized marketing, advertising program, social networking, and full scale online grocery shopping for an initial 10 stores. In July Piggly Wiggly launched MyWebGrocer’s in-store marketing package which included design and content generation for marketing flyers, receipt holders, cart signs, and e-mail announcements. The results were great with an average order growth rate of 53% month over month.

We took many of their ideas and added some of our own– Outdoor in a suburban segment of our home market, Radio spots in select markets, additional Email blasts, Uniform vests with our Click ‘n Shop logo for personal shoppers and baggers and Lapel buttons for front end employees.
